In this paper, it emphasizes on condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of heavy-loading and low-speed machines based on the fundamental principle of the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of equipments and its running and signal charact.According to gear boxes of blooming mill and bearing of driving roller in Iron and Ateel Plant were to be condition monitored and faulty diagnosed .some creative methods of measurement are applied, practical diagnosis results are worked out.The main content of the paper:1. The problems of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis about low-speed and heavy-duty machinery are expounded, the importance and necessity to carry out condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of the low-speed heavy-duty machinery are demonstrated.2. The vibration signal analysis of the low-speed and heavy-duty machinery, and explored the condition monitoring methods of such equipments.3. Practical research of the fault diagnosis of low-speed heavy-duty machinery based on successful examples.The research findings are shown as follows:1. To study the vibration characteristics of low-speed heavy-duty machinery, and propose suitable type of equipments condition monitoring methods.2. To study the failure characteristics and diagnostic methods of low-speed heavy-duty machinery.From successful fault diagnosis of the low-speed and heavy-duty machinery, the technical support are provided of the normal operation of production lines.
