Along with the development of our national economy, the electric network load(e.g. impact, nonlinearity load) is suddenly increased. The voltage fluctuation and flicker are caused by the load. The power quality is badly influenced.Therafore the reaserch for detection and analysis of voltage fluctuation and flicker is highly needed.Firstly, the theory of voltage flicker is analyzed and studied in the paper.Square demodulation method,full-wave rectifier demodulation method, virtual value detection method, wavelet transform and synchronous detection method and the neural network method are analyzed and compared for voltage flicker. The flicker detection system is used by IEC. The digital filters are designed. The IEC digital flickermeter is simulated. The project of system is proved. The basic idea of integrated ARM and SOPC design is proposed. The voltage flicker detection SOPC system based on dual-port RAM is designed. The EP2C35(SOPC) of ALTERA Co.is selected as main chip and LPC2214(ARM7) is selected as auxiliary chip to finish a hardware design for the voltage flicker detection system. The parts of the hardware system are introduced. The software of Quartusâ…¡,SOPC Builder,DSP Builder and Niosâ…¡IDE are used to finish the software design of SOPC system.Theâ…¡R digital filters are designed in DSP Builder. The Niosâ…¡system is realized by SOPC Builder. The software of ARM is designed in ADS intergrated development environment. The block diagrams of software parts are introduced.A test for voltage flicker meter has been done since finishing and testing the detection device, and the result shows that the system is reliable and can complete the detection of voltage flicker.
