Energy is an important energy source the people’s livelihood, Meter as a powermeasurement device determines the fairness of the economic balance sheet. With thedramatic increase in electricity consumption, the failure of the power meter more andmore, while stealing and other illegal use of electricity have also occurred. How tomake safe and reliable electricity production, electricity, normal operations,Economic performance improved steadily as the country’s economic developmentkey issues. In this case, the portable can be brought to the scene to conduct field testsof the power meter calibrator site came into being. For this reason, design of fieldcalibrator for handheld energy meter based on SOPC.The field calibrator with a NIOS-II soft-core processor as the core, high-speed dataoperation, processing and display. Using digital lock frequency multiplier, it controlsthe6-channel16-bit A/D converter ADS8365of the three-phase voltage, phasecurrent for synchronous sampling. Using the AD9850to power into the frequencyand the checking algorithm using power meter for accurate calibration.Firstly, this paper introduced the development status and background ofpower meter field calibrator. Calibration method for the realization of the fieldcalibrator made a theoretical explanation. Secondly, highlights the calibratorhardware design and software design. The hardware design including modules whichsignal conditioning, data acquisition, data processing and human-machine interface,shows the complete circuit, software design is given in the main program flow chart.Finally, with the standard source for calibration of the instrument, and with theinstruments and were the source of the power meter calibration standard,experimental results show that the source of the instrument and the standardcalibration results are basically the same. Analysis of the causes of the error, the nextstep was improving and outlook.
