Braking performance of automobile ensures driving safely, with the traffic law renews unceasingly, the direction and content of its research continuous progress. At the same time, the development of science and technology , in particular the rapid development of computer technology, deeply impact the research of braking system . In this paper, on the basis of discussing the research direction of the braking system, with the development and application of Virtual Product Development, the simulation research of braking system was conducted and verified by the experiment of tested vehicle.First of all,the theory of braking was expounded which include braking performance and ABS working theory, structure and primary control strategies( threshold control,PID control,sliding mode control, fuzzy control)at present.Then, the elementary theory and concept of software support the platform of virtual environment, and go into particulars the simulation analysis of vehicle braking performance. And then built the front, rear suspension, steering, brake, body and so on based on the demand of research task; built the ABS fuzzy control system using MATLAB/Simulink, subsequently, made the analysis of with ABS and without ABS, got the braking distance, deceleration, side distance and so on, provided reliable reference for product design of enterprise.Finally, the braking force of off-road vehicle was tested, and the results in line with the vehicle braking performance standards, then verify the simulation model by comparing the simulation data.
