Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is a braking system that capable of automaticallyadjusting wheel braking force during braking, to prevent the wheels from locking and obtainthe best braking effect. It is the most advanced technique to improve the safety performanceof automobile braking and has been widely used, and it has become the key components ofmodern automobile braking system. The studying on ABS in China started late, with fewABS products of independent intellectual property rights. Therefore, it has practicalsignificance that the development of ABS technology on China’s automobile industry, and ithas become an important topic for China’s automobile industry.Firstly, on the basis of reading lots of literature, this paper introduces the principle ofABS, the composition and development trend. Then, it established the relevant vehicle model,including the single wheel model, tire model and braking system model, and the model inMatlab to achieve the simulation. This paper respectively studies of the logic thresholdcontrol method and fuzzy control method. The values of control mode is that theestablishment of specific mathematical model system is not needed, based on the workingprinciple of ABS, using wheel angular velocity and threshold value and referencecombination of slip rate to compose the control logic and adjust the slip rate coefficientfluctuates near attached to the peak. The use of Matlab/Simulink simulation environment andthe comparative analysis on the different road conditions of with and without the ABS logicthreshold braking control simulation verify the control effect of logic threshold based on ABS:reducing braking distance and braking time, and increasing the braking deceleration. Inaddition, according to the fuzzy theory, this paper sets up a simple fuzzy controller, andapplies it in the vehicle simulation system. The simulation results show that the fuzzycontroller of automobile ABS system achieved good control effect with approached algorithmand practical using value.
