Many aspects such as traction weight, running speed, interval run, braking capacity, energy consumption, optimization of operating and controlling, capacity calculation of points and lines, simulating operation plan and authentication are often considered as main research subjects on studying traction calculation of straddle-type monorail vehicle. By the method, running speed and traction weight of straddle-type monorail car have been improved, operating density and equipment utilization have been advanced, operational safety and energy saving have been ensured, transport capacity and transport efficiency have been raised. Simultaneity, theoretical foundation is provided for simulating operation, running simulation, auto parking and auto driving, and traction calculation is served as the base of designing straddle-type monorail car.The research is based on traction calculation principles of city rail and urban rail transit and relevant theoretical knowledge such as automotive theory to accomplished traction calculation of straddle-type monorail car. Theoretical formulas about traction and running resistance of tire-road construction have been established, which includes deducing the particular curvilinear attached resistance formula for straddle-type monorail car by using SIMPACK, accelerated additional resistance has been added in force model. Effective braking distance formula was built through step size method, which made computer simulation more convenient. Single particle model has been built through studying traction strategy and using analysis method. It is based on MATLAB to draw ua-S curve under different work conditions of straddle-type monorail car, which contents multi-goals after control requesting safety, keeping to schedule, energy saving, easiness and accurate parking. Based on the single particle model, multi-particles model has been built by using optimal traction strategy. Simulation analyses on coupler force and different work conditions such as variational slope and curvature have been finished by using GT-DRIVER. Eventually, ua-S curve, coupler curve, power curve and energy consumption curve were accomplished.
