Study On Modern Jinan's Urban Space Transition & Development (1904-1948)

Jiaoji Railway was opened in 1904.In the same year,Jinan opened trading area and became the first capital city of doing so,and this indicated the beginning of Jinan's transition as traditional land-locked city in modern times.Setting the trading area in the railway hub and jumping of the old city broke the city's way of layout traditional closed spaces,and promoted its spatial structure to transform and develop.This made Jinan quite typical.This paper studies the urban space of Jinan in modern times for object.From the time Jinan setting trading area to the liberation of Jinan(1948),in time for clues,it researches on the urban spatial transition from old city the single center to the mixed two centers with trading area and old city in the late Qing Dynasty as well as its developments and changes in Minguo period.The main contents are the following three points:first of all,in time for clues,it explains and analyzes the stage characteristics and influent factors of Jinan's urban space evolution.Secondly,it analysis and summarizes the lows of the evolution of Jinan's urban space in modern times,such as the law of self-organization development,the law of location selection and the law of uneven development.And through the research method of horizontal comparison,it contrasts Tianjin,Kunming,Lianyungang,Nanjing in the same period to analyzes and reveals Jinan's personality characteristics of urban space transformation and development in modern times.Finally,to combine with the research in this thesis,it has in-depth thinking for the protection of the old city and the development of urban space of today's Jinan. The main contribution of this paper is that,by the empirical study,it objectively and comprehensively investigates the laws of the transformation and development of Jinan urban space in modern times,in order to enrich the theoretical research on Jinan urban space in modern times.
