RC Short-leg shear wall structure system is situated between the shearing force wall and the speical-shaped columns 's which one kind of structural style, by heteromorphous section components and so on L-shape and T-shape primarily. It has been widely used in the residential building because its rigidity is moderate, saves the material as well as indoor does not reveal merits and so on beams, columns. In this paper, According to the 15 test samples analyzed under cyclic loading the structure of the failure mode of short-leg shear wall , thus provides some reference for the short-leg shear wall structure's earthquake resistance performance study.This article prime task is as follows:1. Present short-leg shear wall structure system's theory and experimental study still mainly by structure overall performance analysis primarily, does the research work in the component level to be few. Therefore this article uses the static test to conduct the analytical study to the short-leg shear wall. The experiment can observe on comprehensively the model all spot stress situation, can the correct measurement test sample distortion and the stress. The T-shape, the L-shape short-leg shear wall test sample has carried under cyclic loading experiment in this article. According to short-leg shear wall in actual structure system operating feature, the stress distributions, final failure model of the specimens and paths of the load transfer are studied in detail, the ductility and energy dissipation of the specimens are also specially studied.2. In this paper, based on a sample of 15 low-cycle loading test, detail all the whole process from the cracking of the specimen to completely undermine, find out the characteristics loads and analyze including and external factors changes, the specimen cracking load, yield load and yield displacement and ultimate load, and limit displacement; analyze the different failure modes of the T-shaped, L-shaped sample; analyze the influence of aspect ratio on baroclinic shear damage,Shear-bending-type damage,Bending failure and torsion failure. Show that the axial compression ratio the greater the cross-section of asymmetric hysteresis loop is also more obvious, which is also detrimental to anti-seismic; In the structure, elastic-plastic displacement angle between layers with high thickness ratio of cross-section decreased, therefore the greater high-thick test piece, the more unfavorable in the earthquake. As the shear span ratio of the smaller, short-leg shear wall shear capacity increases, and the degree of increase as the shear span ratio decrease with increasing. With the limb increased, the failure mode of structural changes, and the corresponding calculation model should be different.
