In order to meet the demands of modern naval battle and guarantee that the medium-large caliber naval gun has the persistent attacking power, the supports must be gained from magazine, which is featured by compact construction, high-density storage for many kinds of shell, highly-automated supply of shell to the shell-feeding system. Therefore, the full automatic technology of magazine is one of the key technologies to realize the full-process automatization and intelligence of the medium-large caliber naval gun.On the basis of three-dimensional automatic warehouse technologies in modern logistics theory and naval gun's technical requirements for magazine, the functional structure and architecture of a fully-automatic magazine are established, and a modularized layout scheme of the chain magazine is designed. Based on theories of Petri net and method of object-oriented colored time Petri net (OOCTPN), a OOCTPN model that does not include information places is built for loading and unloading scheduling system of the fully-automatic magazine, and the characters of the Petri net model are analyzed. With the OOCTPN model, the visual simulation of loading and unloading scheduling flow of the fully-automatic magazine is done using Flexsim. It is shown that the modularized and fully-automatic chain magazine can meet the design requirements. At last, a monitor system of the modularized chain magazine is designed. The functions of the monitor system are determined and the monitoring interface is developed by using ForceControl configuration software, and some problems that appear during the process of design, achieving and debugging the software are discussed. The results are helpful to provide theoretical guidance for the research on the automatic magazine of medium-large caliber naval gun.
