The subway construction in some cities, improves the development of the commercial underground. But for its late start and lack of unified planning, the design of underground the commercial space in the domestic is still insufficient, especially in the aspect of public space environment, such as space construction, design method, the humanity, arts and so on, it is unsatisfactory, and the designers should conduct in-depth detailed study.Considering above, the article attempts to use a combining theory and practice approaches, analyses the typical examples of commercial constructions underground in public space environment both home and abroad. Than it summarizes the relationship between the commercial spaces underground and human behaviors, and summed up the impacts of factors that determine the use of space, containing physical, psychological and emotional. On this basis, it studies the design methods of the commercial constructions underground. In the end, it gives the author's point of view: the commercial constructions underground in public space should keep based on demand-oriented of Human activities, pay more attention to detail and concerned about the humanity. The design of the public space should combine historical and cultural of city, and set up the space and theme of cultural full of personality; On the other hand, the commercial constructions underground is the extension of the city. It should be a formation of unify system, combining with the traffic, municipal facilities, the node of the city, and the subway construction in particular. Based on these studies, it points the development trend of design of the commercial constructions underground in public space: diversified, integration, and stage.
