With the accelerating of urbanization process, urban three-dimensional trend has become increasingly apparent. More designers and planners use underground space to solve the problem of high density city, which lead to the birth of underfround commercial buildings. Nowadays, there are many underground commercial buildings in big cities of China. During the graduate study of the author, I participated in the reconstruction of Beijige Plaza Underground Commercial Building and from then I became interested in the design of it.First of all,the author made a detailed definition of the elements of public space in underground commerical buildings, given the reference of other scholars, the author divided the elements into the following four parts:the shape of space, the scale of the space, the separation of the space and the interface of the space. In the process of analysis, the author investigated several cases in Nanjing,Shanghai and Hangzhou.By means of analysing these cases,the author concluded the design method and design strategy of the elements one by one.At the end of the article, the author judge the Beijige Plaza Underground commercial building by the analysis result above. The design process is seperated into three phases:preliminary plan, medium plan and final plan, counted which the author pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of the design. By doing so, we can combine theory and practice very well.The whole thesis contains about41000words.70pictures and charts.
