With the modern development of advanced manufacturing technology and market competition, the capacity of product development and innovation has become one of the key competitiveness of enterprises. So, how to use modern design technologies and management technologies to reengineering the product development processes. This approach can improve the capacity of product development, achieve efficient and effective product and process development of the enterprises. This is manufacturing its own development but also the key point of this paper.The thesis has been in the analysis of the product development process and the PDM workflow and version management. According to the Business Process Reengineering, advanced manufacturing technology and other related theories of product development, the article studied in depth from these four aspects: product development task decomposition and its activity model, product development and shared model of flow control and management, process reengineering process management and integration of interactive control, the key technology of supporting collaborative product data management. And then, the method of workflow techniques and version management in PDM applied to the control and integrated of product development process reengineering are discussed. The system of collaborative development based on product development process reengineering is constructed. The following aspects are involved in the paper:1. Analysis the function and development trends of the process reengineering technology, collaborative development, PDM workflow and its basic theory, principles and methods.2. Based on the principles of development process reengineering of pneumatic nail gun, the model of collaborative development task decomposition and its process is put forward. The multi-level collaborative development process model is advanced, and set up a process of the collaborative development process reengineering and basic pneumatic nail gun workflow.3. From analysis of the pneumatic nail gun the process and organizational forms, the model of development process reengineering and its interactive information are expressed. The project-process of integration model, the collaborative development process control and project management model were constructed to achieve the data interaction and management based on PDM system.4. According to the implementation of pneumatic nail gun project, the business process reengineering the development of needs and product data analysis, it sets up the framework of the PDM system, development flow and the various subsystems of the data transmission model. The thesis accomplishes collaborative development PDM systems and some parts of integration between PDM and industrial design platform for feasibility of program.Finally, the theory which is based on the product development process reengineering of PDM systems is applied to the pneumatic nail gun enterprises and verification is feasible. At last, the content above is summarized and the following work is also proposed.
