High-speed locomotive is composed of a variety of complex components. Auxiliary Power Supply System (APSS) influences the operating condition of the whole locomotive. It is one of its most important components of high-speed locomotive. This paper introduces domestic scholars' research work and acquired technique. The mode and components of APSS are analyzed. This paper illustrates the structure and function of auxiliary power supply system (APSS) of high-speed locomotive. Four types of APSS of China Railway High-speed are introduced. Different circuit structures, schemes and their advantages and drawbacks are compared and analyzed. Also, simulation models of the four types of APSS of CRH are built. Design considerations for future's home-made APSS of high-speed locomotive are given.Auxiliary inverter and battery charger are the two key techniques of APSS. This paper analyzes auxiliary inverter's mathematical model and proposes a double-closed-loop control method for inverter's stable operation. In order to verify the control method, MATLAB/SIMULINK software is used for simulation work. The selection of parameters follows those in the real system. This paper also conducts experiment on the inverter system for its correctness. The circuit structure and principle of battery charger are analyzed. Simulation model is also made for it.This paper carries out research on design method of APSS's parameters of DC-AC type. Loads in APSS are classified and the measures for distributing loads when inverters break down are proposed. Suggestions for home-made APSS are given.
