In cold winter, snow and ice lead to the road surface friction coefficient significantly lower than in other seasons, so that the traffic travels and braks difficultly, easily leading to traffic accidents and taking a great loss of people's lives and property. Effective removal of road-icing, especially highways, bridges, airports and other important facilities' deicing, has been wordwidly concerned by countries where are located in high latitudes.Microwave heating had been introduced to the road deicing technology,using microwave heating's characteristics,the United laboratory of Chang'an University and Midea company, Chang'an University's mobile post-doctoral center of mechanical engineering, the Midea Group's mobile post-doctoral center researched together on the microwave-related experimental of road-deicing technology , some results has been yielded, therefore, the study of 5.8GHz microwave using in road deicing is great significance.The article provides an overview of the current situation and development of hot-melt heating and microwave heating, 5.8GHz microwave heating compared with traditional hot-melt heating and 2.45GHz microwave, 5.8GHz microwave heating's advantages are drawed,the depth of 5.8GHz microwave heating asphalt concrete is about 42% of 2.45GHz microwave heating's, and power loss density is 3-4 times more than 2.45GHz microwave's. According to the three-dimensional electromagnetic-heating equation of microwave deicing, establish the electromagnetic and temperature fields of 5.8GHz microwave deicing,using CST Microwave Studio and ANSYS finite element analysis software, simulate the electromagnetic and temperature fields of 5.8GHz microwave deicing under the conditions of environmental temperature -10°C and ice thickness 50mm, the time of 5.8GHz microwave deicing is about 305,the deicing time of 2.45GHz microwave deicing is 3-4 times more than 5.8GHz microwave. And testing the deicing time of the model in laboratory, experiments show that the simulation results in line with the actual situation.Finally,the impact of different factors are researched on 5.8GHz microwave deicing's time,the thickness of ice effecting on the deicing time is less,but the deicing time is significantly different at different environmental temperature,the microwave deicing time of asphalt concrete pavement is about 3-4 times more than cement concrete pavement's. The practicality of 5.8GHz microwave deicing is analysised,and further measures are taken to improve the efficiency of microwave deicing.
