The bicycle traffic takes the uppermost proportion of the city passenger transport in our country. The complexion that bicycles are the main vehicle in great cities is broken gradually with the mechanization degree of city traffic of our country gonging higher. Bicycle transportation should be encouraged as a kind of "green" vehicle, but the bicycle's occupying the proportion overweight has also brought some municipal transportation questions, such as, the bicycle and motor vehicle transport mutually disturbing seriously on the road that motor vehicle and non-motor vehicle mixed with each other; the obviously increasing of conflict in the road intersection where non-motor vehicle road which affects the travel stream of motor vehicles have been set, reducing the capability of the road intersection. But from consideration of the bicycle traffic characteristic and the actual national strength and condition of our country, bicycles can't be substituted all of a sudden, the bicycle traffic will still hold its important status in a certain period, and the bicycle traffic will still hold quite a great proportion in short distance journeys, and this article will precisely launch the research under this background. As the existence of mixed traffic in our country, so much theory and experience of traffic design, control and management in European and American countries cannot act very well in our country. According to examples, and making full use of the programming theory and design method of bicycle traffic, this article probed the layout research separately into bicycle traffic road network, the bicycle road intersection and the bicycle parking lot, making every effort to form a set of quite comprehensive and consummate theories of bicycle traffic network programming, which adapt with municipal transportation development of our country. The final partial chapters make the analysis to the examples, in purpose of explaining that each city should formulate the bicycle traffic programming strategy according to its own transportation circumstances and conditions.
