With the enhancement of the performance of the weapon system, new more novel requirements are imposed on the design. How to improve the aerodynamic performance of the weapon system is more and more critical in the design process. Conformal optics is one of the solutions to this problem. In missile optics, ellipsoid domes are adopted, which have larger ratio of length to diameter than conventional hemispherical domes. With the application of the conformal optics, the significant increase in speed and range of the missile benefit from the significant reduction of aerodynamic drag. And at the same time, the radar cross section of the missile is also reduced. But the conformal dome is of high gradient, and its curvature varies remarkably across the section. These make the traditional measurement method for slightly gradient mirror not suitable to conformal optics components. Therefore, the measurement method has become one of the obstacles in application of conformal optics. This thesis is dedicated to solving the problems mentioned above, in order to improve the capability for manufacturing steep aspheric surfaces. The main contents include:1. Base on the basic measurement principle of a rectangular coordinate measurement technique, The two algorithms of"Stitching in Pairs"and"Error Averaging Method"are put forward for the measurement of steep aspheric.2. Study the optical parameter value and error Parameter. Aiming at the Primary system error"position error"in the testing system,we established the inverse solution mathematic model. The effect of the high gradient and the effect of the gauge head dynamic characteristic on the uncertainty of the right-angle coordinate measurement method are analyzed and simulated.3. Explain the methods of evaluation the uncertainty in practice and engineering domain. The effect of the environmental factors such as the temperature and the vibration is researched and tested too.4. The dividing method of the global profile is researched and the two algorithms are simulated with MATLAB. Finally, as a practical example, an experimental set-up is built and a steep conformal optics is tested.
