Chinese Train Control System (CTCS) is a part of the railway intelligent transportation systems of Chinese characteristics. It shoulders the important mission of ensuring train's safe operation and increasing the conveying efficiency. CTCS has five levels, and this essay mainly gives research on CTCS level 2 (CTCS2), a train control system based on track circuits. CTCS2 is actively employed in the newly-built passenger lines and the reconstruction of existing railways.CTCS2 is a new system, and it has some defects, so it should be improved continuously. The signal engineering design of CTCS2 is improved via a series of trials which will take a long experimental period; inconvenience railway services; easily cause security thread; and consume huge human and material resources. Therefore, it does harm to the improvement of CTCS2. As a comprehensive subject with a long history, simulation uses simulation models to do for entities, which highlights economical efficiency, safety and short experimental period. Therefore, it has extremely vital significance to study the simulation system which is compatible with CTCS2 and can simulate the train operation, the act of facility of rail line, railway station and traffic dispatch condition; and analyze the data of the experiments.Through research on the technical specification and function of CTCS2, the essay analyzes the structural design and functional requirement of CTCS2's simulation system and fulfills the design of control center subsystem. With analysis of the structural and functional requirement of the control center, the essay involves designing the control center subsystem by VC. The essay lays emphasis on the detailed design and implementation method of the control center's basic function modules such as "full-line display" and "simulation control". For example, the "full-line display", "route setting", "fault setting" and "temporary speed restriction" can be achieved by reading configuration files. Besides, the essay gives detailed analysis on the control center subsystem's senior function modules such as "run schedule" and "statistical analysis". For how to achieve automatic startup, automatic route setting, analysis reports on T-S curve, V-S curve and distance curve, the essay also gives specific discussions. Furthermore, the essay points out the problems on the simulation system on the basis of analyzing simulation result.
