The new office building of CHINA CHENGDA ENGINEERING CO., LTD (Chengda Building) is a concentrically cross-layer and cross-column k-braced frames. Chengda Building has stood the test of 5.12 Wenchuan large earthquake when it has been constructed. It confirmed that the structure has a little seismic performance, however the buildings around Chengda Building, including some very irregular buildings have also stood the test of 5.12 Wenchuan large earthquake. So the structure performance in rare earthquake has not been confirmed by engineering practice. At the same time, the structure is applied seldom at home and abroad, so it has obvious practical significance to study the seismic performance of the structure.First of all, the paper briefly introduced the common structures of high-rise building, focusing on braced frames structures, and also introduced the application and research status of concentrically cross-layer and cross-column k-braced frames at home and abroad. Secondly, the paper introduced the structural analysis theories used in the paper.At last, the paper created four 24-layers-building models with SAP2000: a concentrically cross-layer and cross-column k-braced frames model,a concentrically herringbone braced frames model, a concentrically decussation braced frames model,a concentrically cross-layer and cross-column x-braced frames model. The paper analyzed the above-mentioned four models using common static analysis, the bottom shear way,the mode-superposition response spectrum method,the time-historic analytical method,nonlinear static procedure. By comparing the results of the analysis, the paper concluded that the main advantage of concentrically cross-layer and cross-column k-braced frames is that it has a large lateral rigidity, and its main fault is that the influence of stiffness degradation is very significant when the structure bear the positive and negative earthquake action. At the same time, the paper concluded the characteristics of deformation and internal force. At last, the paper gave some suggestions about the design of the structure.
