Today, with an increasingly competitive market, many products and technological innovation are emerging and homogenization of products is becoming more and more serious. Meanwhile, the life cycle of products becomes shorter and shorter. As a result, in such an environment how enterprises get sustained viability, get greater market development and access to greater profits is an important research topic. Form the theory of the value engineering, customers do not really want to buy products and services itself, but value which can meet some demand. Product value is a source of the enterprise wealth. The greatest value and lowest cost enable companies to maximize revenue, which has become a core content to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises, and directly related to the business healthy, stable development. Therefore, the product value optimization has great significance for the sustainable development of enterprises.Electromechanical products are closely related to people's lives, and they are the mainstream of China's export goods. Electromechanical products have features such as diversity, complexity and extensive, so the research of value optimization of such products has important theoretical significance and application value. This paper studied electromechanical products, and constructed a theoretical system of value optimization based on the theories of value engineering, cost-oriented design, concurrent engineering and other modern scientific theories. With the control of product cost, quality,function and value were merged into products synthetically and the technology to enhance the product value was the main point of the paper.Firstly, the paper made an in-depth analysis of the basic theory,methods and related theories of value engineering and cost control. A cost control and optimization method centered on product values was proposed in combination with the existing problems in cost control of modern enterprises. Meanwhile, in view of the characteristics of electromechanical products and with practical projects, a set of theoretical frame and specific implementation methods of value optimization suitable for the development of electromechanical products were established based on the functional cost analysis of the products.Secondly, the paper studied the key technologies of value optimization from four aspects. Then using ABC method and combined with the proportion of parts, comprehensive analysis methods of the key value objects of electromechanical products were given, which selected key research objects from numerous parts and components. After the analysis of key research objects, the composition and classification of product values were studied. And then, the functions of key research objects were analyzed and evaluated. Moreover, in terms of value calculation and concerning the functions and quality of products, the value optimization model was established to optimize and compute the product values. Finally, based on the above study, value optimization strategies were developed, which verified the feasibility and maneuverability of value optimization.Finally, an example of product value optimization for an automobile enterprise was given. The application analysis showed that optimizing values at the design stage not only controlled the product cost from the roots well, but also avoided the afterwards modification, as a result, provided a set of practical methods for the development of new products and cost control in enterprises as well as verified the feasibility and correctness of the theory.
