As auto industry development, it is development way to study the economic saving, environmental protection engine,and NG engine is the best choice to solve the problem. According to the government project of"The development of the heavy duty CNG engine"in china, and the application experience of the CNG in our country and abroad, the developing strategy of CNG engine has been suggested and simulated calculation and combustion analyses for working processes have been completed in this paper. The YC6G260N-40 CNG engine with electrical control injection system has been developed.At first the history of CNG engine and vehicle was introduced which included the catalogs of CNG engine and technical feature in detail. Based on the fundament of analyses of abroad and our country CNG engine technology, the developing strategy of CNG engine has suggested. Based on the YC6G260 diesel which the basic construction unchanged, the necessary modified designing for CNG engine was made which included fuel control system,combustion system, intake and exhaust system, cylinder head, piston, and turbocharger. At the same time, the technonogy of lean burn, cooling turbocharger, low swirl combustion system, coil-on-plug ignition control system ,close loop injection control system and oxide catalyst etc have been used. So the emission, the power and the economy for CNG have been improved.In this paper, one dimension model simulated calculation of cylinder combustion was carried, and the influence of intake and exhaust valve timing, swirl ratio, piston to the engine's performance was analysed. Three dimension simulated calculation and analysis was made with working process, which investigated the fluid moving systematically and predicted the vulnerable spot for durability and made measurement. In this paper, the strategy of the electrical control system calibration electrical control system with the CNG engine was provided, and the optimal calibration of electrical control system with CNG engine was carried out, and the performance test of oxides catalysts was made. At last, the YC6G260N-40 CNG engine with electrical control injection system was developed, it's performance and durability have meet the requirement of the product design and meet the state IV emission standard.In this paper, the development of YC6G260N-40 CNG engine were explored and summarized, which would direct and assist to the alternative fuel engine development in the future.
