At present, the polishing of comples shape die of automobiles profiles is still performed manually. Manual polishing has the disadvantages of hard working, low efficiency, and poor processing capacity, which restricts the advance of mold industry.Nowadays, the full automatic polishers which are used on market, because of their high cost, only suitable for homogeneous polishing, and not suitable for the stage of testing or repairing mold, so only few large-scale mold manufacturing industries are in use. The shortcoming of existing minitype polisher is that it cannot locate the load direction well. So developing the semiautomatic die polisher is conformable to the reality. Not only can it reduce the cost, but also it can decrease polishing worker's labor intensity, and increase the efficiency. In addition, it adapts any the die companies, and it can be used in homogeneous and heterogeneous polishing as well.Based on abundant data, this thesis analyzes the face feature of large-die, and combines with the motion of human arm during the manual polishing, and determines the motion feature and structural characteristics of the mechanism. The mechanism which can replace the manual polishing must have the advantages of much convertibily, multi-angle, flexible posintioning and indifferent equilibrium in order to adapt to different requirenments in polishing. On the basis of the above in investigations the author presents the floating semiautomatic polishing system design project, applied the kinematic diagram and design draft.The thesis uses large-scale common simulation software Pro/ENGINEER to concrete design, modeling, general assembly and motion simulation for the polishing mechanism , studies the rationality of the structure and motor function of the polishing mechanism, analyzes the mechanics of the key parts-- equalizing frame of the floating typical polishing mechanism, studies the polishing force and torque of the grinding head. This thesis also does the mechanics simulation analysis for the key part of the mechanism, and verifies the theoretically mechanical model of the system. Finally, this thesis makes the Theoretical and Practical verification for the floating typical polishing mechanism which is designed in this thesis, and determines the rationality of the machine.
