As one of the most important electric power equipments in electric power system, the transformers have determinative importance for directly improving the reliability of power supply and the safety. During the operation or failure condition, transformers produce some combustible gases. So these gaseous compositions and contents can acts as an index to judge the operation and failure conditions of transformers. The related departments enact relative standard. Generally speaking, the traditional monitoring method is taking out oil-samples or iron-core from transformers, as a result, it leads to the cost high, the reliability of power supply poor. The worst of all, the method can't forecast the state of transformers in time.In this paper, the on-line monitor device is discussed, which the combustible gases are indexes, comprise signal acquisition unit, microprocessor unit, external EEPROM and clock circuit unit, man-machine interface unit(display unit and keyboard interface circuit unit)and Communication unit. This system is based on the idea of modular design. Atmega32 is introduced as the core of the gas-line monitoring of the design and implementation of instrument from the hardware design and the software design. The system can directly and continuously read gas oil in the total amount of flammable; calculate on the trend of gas and warning; indicate the date and the time; system failure alarm; serial communication.Before this thesis, the device has been finished and debugged successfully.
