Study On The Development Of Sites Surrounding Rail Transportation Hub

With the urbanization trend, rail transportation has been widely used in many large cities, compared with common modes of transportation ,it has many advantages that made it to be the first choice at home and abroad to solve traffic problems.The development for the surrounding sites of rail transportation hub has become a focus of urban development gradually.Firstly, the thesis starts from the status quo of development of sites surrounding the rail transportation hub, analyses the problems about identifying form, function and intensity in practice of development. At the same time, analyses the selected cases at home and abroad by using the theory of TOD and joint development, summarizes the characteristics of the development of sites surrounding the rail transportation hub, including the delineation of affected areas, the cost-effectiveness, the characteristics of the multiplier effect and the impact of urban vitality.Secondly, the thesis emphasizes that the joint development should be strongly advocated in choosing forms of development, and puts forward particular ideas of working; then, on basis of cases , aims at three types of development of sites surrounding the rail transportation hub, mainly for traffic, transport and commercial functions of both, multi-functional complex, studies the principles and the basic law of determining land use and intensity respectively.Finally, selects the Renmin road hub of Suzhou No .1 Transit Line and Railway Station hub as the representatives of the two types, makes applied researches on countermeasures of the development.
