In the field of traditional design visual language is more inclined to the graphic design of two-dimensional, it is the part of visual communication research, and the space environment of three-dimensional is the part of environment design which is not to be included in the graphic design. However, with the development of design disciplines, a growing number of design practitioners found that the application of visual language has not only satisfied with the contents of two-dimensional plane, a growing number of graphic design has achieved a cross with the space environment. Display design is one of the most powerful proof.Museum display design is a part of the display design. The long-term exhibition is the most important difference from the temporary exhibition. Museum is the main carrier of human cultural heritage, people visit the museum through the browser form, come into being the interaction relationship of multi-visual with "man and the items on display ", ultimately to convey the communication, acceptance and awareness of information. In this process, the visual language become the main medium . In the space of museum the visual language is to be show the deep cultural and geographical characteristics of the nation. In museum display the choice and combination of"visual semanteme, visual vocabulary, visual grammar", the performance of the new practices will be integrated into the museum a direct impact on the overall effectiveness of the design. So the application research of visual language is particularly important in a in museum display space, and have very practically application value.This article attempts to illustrate the practice of visual language in the museum exhibition space, the visual language as a visual communication tool and media will cause the display space to strongly affect in large degree, it will lead to some thinking and discussion. In some areas the visual language can change the visual feel of the existing space, create the illusion of space, giving the audience a very strong power effect in visual scene.Issues cut in a new perspective, I will re-examine the form of display space and the experience of visual in the atmosphere of space, analyze the problem which comes from the combination of visual language and display space. For example with the correlation museums, with comprehensive analysis, comparison, and conclude the relevant laws ultimately. All of these will avoid some problems and resolve the contradiction for our future work with museum display design to provide adequate theory support. The purpose of this article is to advice some explored suggestion for the contemporary museum, and hope that can provide some useful reference for museum display design in current China's national conditions.
