Invastigation Of Destruction And Reconstruction Of Sichuan Classical Gardens In Earthquake Stricken Areas After 5.12

Wenchuan County of Sichuan province encountered with a major 8.0 earthquake at 14:28 on May 12, 2008, the earthquake caused serious casualties, economic losses, city infrastructure destruction and an amount of damage to cultural heritage and relics. Sichuan had the most serious casualties and damage ,one-third of the cultural heritage was destroyed seriously. And the classical gardens in Sichuan as an important component of China's cultural heritage, has also suffered a great losses.The aim of this research is to enhance the concept of protecting non-renewable cultural heritage based on information of damage status of classical gardens, and reinforcing the study and application of disaster prevention function and timber structure architecture of classical gardens in the process of restruction.During the investigation, the subject focuses on the damage of classical garden after the earthquake by a written survey and collated the information. while the damage situation are known by ways of visiting, surveying and investigating. At the same time, the classical gardens of disaster damage assessment system is established, for assessing the damage.Some classical gardens were investigated to assess the damage situation through visiting, surveying, photographing and analyzing. Ancient heritage garden not only damaged on physical side, but also seriously damaged on intangible cultural and social side. During the restoration and reconstruction process, the repair effort focus on ecological restoration and cultural restoration. Ecological restoration includes the vegetation, soil and water recovery. Cultural restoration includes the cultural landscape and relic recovery. At the same time, This study focused on the earthquake-proof effect of ancient timberwork building to emphasize the importance of protecting and applying the technique of ancient timberwork building of the protection of classical gardens in the future.In the paper, the different damage levels of Sichuan classical gardens in the earthquake seismic area were classified and analyzed, and the visual impairment cases were showed. A disaster loss evaluation system of classical garden was established, bring the idea of the overall repair on the base of restoration of traditional theory.The spirit of classical gardens carried of traditional culture and the humanities that can not be regenerated, the reconstruction of classical gardens of Sichuan should pay more attention to the "shape" of the repair, and more importantly is the "God" which is the core of garden and cultural rehabilitation, Reconstruction process should follow the "repair the old, such as old" restoration measures, and focus on sustainable development and the traditional concept of cultural heritage. Sichuan classical gardens are not only an important part of China's classical gardens, but also the culture in Sichuan load, The reconstruction of Sichuan classical gardens has an important theoretical and practical significance. Earthquake is suddenly, but to the existent classical gardens, the disaster resistance and the garden protection should be carried on. It is hoped that the trial research in this paper could afford reference and help for classical gardens in the future disasters.The innovation of this subject as follows: the disaster loss evaluation system and reparation principle of classical gardens post earthquake were raised in this article.
