Hydraulic torque converter is a important part for vehicle's transmission system, which can adapt the variety of load automatically, change torque, and automatically convert speed in a limited range. The characteristic of fabrication hydraulic torque converter are good performance and a mass of manufacture, which will replace the traditional foundry hydraulic torque converter, but design and manufacture is hard for fabrication hydraulic torque converter. Modern design theory show that the key of designing a advanced hydraulic torque converter is analysis on inner flow field.Firstly, the article introduce liquid basic control equation, kinds of onflow model, arithmetic of the flow field, and the theory and method of partition gridding .Gaining the flow space from the UG and Gambit software and analyzing hydraulic torque converter's inner flow field with the emulation software FLUENT , which based on existed product. Getting the press,velocity and so on . And then ,analysis three working wheel's press,velocity and inlet path lines under three typical working condition. At last, introducing the performance experiment of hydraulic torque converter, analysis the traditional experiment platform, and creating a new high precision and efficiency one, and test the hydraulic torque converter that we are researching. The results between experiment and emulation are about coincident.We get the conclusion that high press and velocity grads and back flow,secondary flow,vortex influence the performance of hydraulic torque converter, especially for the efficiency. we can promote the performance of hydraulic torque converter though change the structure of inner fields, which can get a smooth press and velocity grads and eliminate deviant flow. The way of getting the flow field of hydraulic torque converter in this article is useful, which can provide theory for promoting.
