Wear of internal combustion engine piston ring-liner system, which has a closed relationship with the system's lubrication and friction, has a significant impact on the engine's performance. The Wear model should be a system model which contains lubrication and friction.A wear model was developed in a tribology system. Firstly, building a theoretical model which contains dynamic, lubrication and wear; secondly, building a mathematical simulation program using Fortran. Along with the increasing of crank speed, oil viscosity, the adhesive wear rate would increase and the abrasive wear rate would decrease. Along with the decreasing of surface roughness, ring elastic pressure, the adhesive wear rate would increase and the abrasive wear rate would increase.Giving some advises on the design of ring profile to decrease the piston ring-liner system's wear rate. Increasing ring barrel profile height, ring axial height and ring barrel profile bottom part height could decrease the ring-liner system adhesive wear rate. There is a best ring profile for each engine to have a best decreasing wear rate design. Through different types of ferrograph analyzing, the piston ring-liner system wear rate increase with the running time increasing.
