With the application and development of the computer at the field of relay, microprocessor-based relay protection devices have become increasingly sophisticated. The majority of domestic manufacturers of protective devices can change setting relay value without power-off in the distance, but in practice the use of small, electric power enterprises are still at the scene to modify setting value through the power-off, which has led to a lot of waste of resources and economic losses. In order to meet the electricity enterprise's needs of development, the use of changing setting relay value without power-off can reduce the times of power-off and the intensity of job, improve the efficiency and safeguard the security of the grid which has a lot of great significance.This thesis analyzes the hardware structure of microprocessor-based protection. Then, it analyzes three mechanisms of changing setting value on the microprocessor-based protection.This thesis frames the program of changing setting value in the distance based on the scene technology. Based on distributed systems technology, it designs the scheme by components and makes the software component relatively independent and reusable. In this frame, the technology of changing setting value in distance is one part of the relay protection fault information system, and it also can build the support system based on the integrated substation independently. It also designed the components of communication technology based on hierarchical software system structure to solve the complexity of the problem of communication protocol and information model. The component of communication layer can uniform the interface of data communication. Thereby, it can shield the diversity of devices, ensure the unified data in the upper. It can provide an excellent solution to achieve the adaptability of diversity of communication protocol.The results of this thesis has been successfully applied to the protective relaying and fault information system which was developed by Shandadianli. And through a rigorous system testing, its results show that the technology is safe and reliable utility. The system is to be in a number of cities in Shandong power grid into operation.Finally, this thesis analyzes the safety and benefit of the technology and it shows that the changing value of microprocessor-based protection without power-off has fully demonstrated the practical value of its good and broad prospects for development.
