When a project is designed, the most optimized plan is always to be obtained and the strengthening engineering for architectural structure is of no exception. The constant development of applied mathematics and computer technology enables the optimal design to be possible. Optimal design refers to applying the most optimal principia mathematical into project designs. Seeking the most perfect or adequate engineering plan among the numerous design plans is a modern engineering method.Architectural strengthening plans are constrained by such factors as functions, economy, technologies and sites which influence and are related to each other. In view of economy, the total project investment varies with the changes of all such indicators as material price, construction level and engineering plans. The reliability is always under the control of all technical indexes of the engineering plans. All factors are uncertain to some extent and the relation between all factors is of explicit ambiguity. Hence, the architectural strengthening plan is a complex system.In this essay, a detailed technological economy analysis is conducted on the frequently used architectural strengthening plans on the basis of traditional analytical hierarchy process and an open evaluation index system for architectural strengthening plans is reestablished. A basic structure for an improved analytical hierarchy process is established with combination and application of the methods of improved determining weighing for level sequencing and scaling exponent as well as value assignment for evaluation of estimate based on scaling exponent for evaluation and optimization of architectural strengthening plans in stages and by steps.The improved analytical hierarchy process perfects theories from the aspects of both theory and practice, and makes this method be applied more conveniently in practice, which is worth popularizing and applying in the field of architectural strengthening plan optimization.
