The Research Of The Design On Renewal Of The Convergence Area Between Suzhou Ancient City And New Distric

Since the last twenty years of 20century, rapid development has taken place in cities of our country. The scale of the city is so large that the land available for exploitation is less than before. Such situation acquires renovate the construction area in city.The connecting area between the old city and the new district of Suzhou developed from the brim area to one part of the city centre. The area condition has improved lots. And its appearance and function must adapt to its change. the linking area being part of the old city of Suzhou, we must take into account of the harmonious of the whole view of old city in innovation. Knowing the current situation of linking area ,It is a deviation from the image of the city centre with the character of irrational use of land, aging building, traffic jams, the low quality of senery ,space image confusion .Besides ,it's difficult to satisfy people with the increasing needs of material and culture life. My paper begins with the view of protection and developing, applying the opinion of city design subject .It realize its sustainable development by renewal the city and harmonious transition from old city to new area. The renewal of the linking area must conformity systematiclyWith the whole city. And the structure of city should adjust under the guidance of master plan ;texture space must conformity with one accord between tradition and modern ;old city new area realization by remolding axes and contour horizon .In order to accommodate development, there is necessity to advance function of commercial ,public service and traffic.; at last, it begins with the rich connotation of city design ,considering the harmonious between economy ,social and ecology.In the end ,I will discuss the application of the renewal design methods about linking area.Through researching the renewal example of the east part of the city.
