Transformation Design And Research On The Old Construction And Landscape Of Colleges And Universities

The old construction and the landscape of University is an important witness to the school historical development. In The past century, the universities' construction and landscape has supplied with the service of places to teachers and students of generation after generation. It has become the precious memories and spiritual home of most teachers and students. Besides, It is the significant symbol and previous heritage of the University spirits. These age-old architecture and landscape have suffered a lot and become deserted, so many of them have been unable to meet the functional requirements of the construction and landscape in today's higher education. Therefore, it is imperative for us to protect and reconstruct the old building and landscape. It's also the important issue that architect must face.The main elements of this research are how to transform the old university campus building and landscape and bring a new life cycle to them, in order to make them adapt to the new functional and aesthetic needs. The aim is to perfect the function and form of classical architecture and landscape. This paper researches the transformation methods and examples of old building and landscape at home and abroad in combination with the theory of urban planning, architectural design and landscape design. We can bring the mature urban construction's transformation to the renovation of colleges and universities. First, we must understand further the history and culture of the campus development. Second, we need to value and analyze the old construction and landscape. Last, we research practical transformation of the old building and landscape principles and programs for campus. Only in this way, can we accumulate valuable experience of sustainable development in universities campus.The innovation of the subject is to analyze the basic systems of the construction and landscape and bring a number of practical and effective transformations of theory and program about the replacement of function, protection of structure renovation of environmental equipment, the use of new materials, and the continuation of style and so on. In this research, we take the transformation of old building and landscape in Henan University of Technology campus Song Shan Road for example, so we can further validate and renew the research results. What's more, this can help us explore the new ideas of old construction and landscape.
