Study On Recognize Ability And Regional Features Of City Square

With the rapid development of our urban economy and urban construction and the globalization of communication and technology,each place had began to improve its urban space.As a very important part of our urban public space,the city plaza has played a very essential role in promoting our city's energy.However,as the concept of "globalization" is enriching our material world and creating a new era spirit,at the same time,it has also created a lot of side effects such as the phenomenon that different cities and architecture buildings in this world are becoming more and more similar and the regional characters are being more and more blur.Due to an insufficiency of people's perception and conceptual value about our traditional culture,a variety of flaws in our environment planning and an international trend of city plaza's type,the construction of our city plazas are largely identical but with minor differences and are meanwhile confronted a serious regional character crisis.The similar developing model and single cultural value system make our regional culture deteriorate rapidly and even perish at the end.The city plazas are supposed to not only provide people with a place where they can have some entertainments,gather as a party and take a walk but also promote people's communication and interaction and enhance people's regional identity sense.Therefore,a reginal characteristic city plaza can not only increase the city's identity but also expand the cohesion of the different members in the society.This article bases on the formation and development of city plazas and makes a comparative analysis about the similarities and differences of both Chinese and western city plazas in their development courses and the differences of city plazas which have been built in recent several years in China and western countries to analyze the characters and exsiting problems of our current modern city plazas,and suggest some problems such as that our current modern city plazas need identity and regional characters,what is the relationship between identity and regional characters and how to use regional characters to make our city plazas have certain identity in order to discuss the design measures and concept of these city plazas' regional characters in a level of principles and approaches;we have to focus on some flaws of regional characteristic plazas' construction and propose some feasible design proposals of city plazas to solve these problems,We have to treat the regional characters and the city plaza which has a certain identity with a connective and developmental concept; Different cities under different regional cultural background have a certain different understanding about the city plaza.Finally,this article targets the Dujiangyan People square mainly designed by the famous professor Yu Kongjian as a research objective to elaborate how to understand and use the regional characters and identity to design our city plazas and meanwhile discuss how to sufficiently use our natural,cultural and historical resources to create a better city plaza which can be well accepted and recognized by the public.
