Taking Huangling-Yan'an expressway as the object of study, this thesis investigated asphalt mixture optimum design and construction technique. Proportion design, demands analysis of asphalt mixture and raw materials, high temperature stability and construction technique of asphalt mixture were included in the research program.According to the characters of Huangling-Yan'an expressway and the contribution of asphalt surface layers, graduation optimization and performance validation of AC-13, AC-20, AC-25 and ATB-30 was investigated, basing on the Specifications for Design of Highway Asphalt Pavement, Superpave method and Bailey method. The demands of raw materials were put forward basing on the performance analysis of the mixtures. Through the analysis of formation cause and mechanism of rutting, the factors effecting the rutting of asphalt pavement was investigated. The influence of the aggregate gradation curve tendency, nominal maximum aggregate size and asphalt content for high temperature performance of asphalt mixture was also investigated.The construction technique of asphalt mixture (including modified asphalt mixture) and asphalt stabilization aggregate were studied in mixing, spreading, pressing, and quality control. The technique of isolation prevention and pressing quality of asphalt mixture was put forward.The results of the thesis have provided the technical support for the construction of asphalt pavement of Huangling-Yan'an expressway.
