With the rapid growth of the quantity of vehicle in our country, in order to ensure the traffic safety, it become more and more important to carry on measuring fixed performance of automobile. Facing major repair shop and small Detection Line demand this system is designed. Based on maturing of vehicle detecting technology and intelligence of automobile performance inspection, the vehicle inspection line is researched in this paper, which is low-cost, better commonality, small size, simple structure, high reliability and meets kinds of needs of Vehicle Inspection.This paper reviews the purpose, significance and contents of development of automobile detecting microcomputer control system. Analyzing the trend and current situation of automobile detection at home and abroad, function model of this system is put forward. In contrast to the model of existing vehicle detection line, based on PC104 bus SCM structure model is put forward, this system analyzes and designs hardware of slave computer, including the test signal conditioning modules, the system control unit, A/D converter module and I/O coupler interface circuit. And the software of slave computer is also designed. This system researches and designs the upper computer software system, and gives the example of programming communicating module.The cost of this vehicle inspection line reduces obviously, and the major parameter can be detected. This upper computer software system adopts object-oriented software design method, which has some advantage, such as: flexible in configure, Extensible, common.
