Seafloor observatory is a subject service for undersea exploration and researching work. The purpose of power management system of seafloor observatory is to insure the power supply work properly and realize remote monitor and control. On base of actuality of seafloor observatory and its power-management system, this thesis analyses the functions of power-management system and puts forward the methods to realize these functions. This thesis includes six chapters:Chapter one: seafloor observatory was introduced briefly and the actuality of research on power management system was summed up. On base of above, the objects and tasks of this thesis was put forward.Chapter two: after analysis of the characteristics of power supply in seafloor observatory, functions needed in system were proposed. The outline of system design was put forward, and a systematic protection in system was also introduced.Chapter three: mainly research on hardware of the power management system. Advantages and disadvantages of control switch used power MOSFET were introduced. Over voltage protection circuit and measurement circuit was designed.Chapter four: the research was on software architecture of system, and Visual C++ and TCP/IP network programming were introduced. Also, the process of application software was introduced both from junction box and base station.Chapter five: the result of experiment of power management system was analysed.Chapter six: a summary of the research has been given, the conceit of the further developing work was pointed out.
