Wind is renewable and clean energy, so wind power generation is an important means to ease energy shortages and environmental pressures. At present, about the main design technology of wind turbine, China is still at a relatively low level, especially for vertical axis wind turbine. Since there is no adequate engineering practice to draw on and no mature standard for reference, its design is still stuck in the traditional structure. This paper employs the theories of aerodynamics and structural mechanics to do the research on focuses on the design methods of Darrieus-type vertical axis wind turbine structure. In addition, the study successfully applied. The structure of Darrieus-type VAWT wind blades belongs to the mast-rotor complex structure system, so its reliability is an important unit performance. The main tasks of this paper are as follows: do research on the design method of vertical axis wind turbine structure, focusing on the structural arrangement of the wind turbine and blade-type line calculation; make use of CAD/CAE technology to do study on the dynamic characteristics, static properties, fatigue properties and stability of the wind turbine blades Static characteristic has shown that wind turbine that uses the wind wheel blades of Troposkien-type line structure has a good structural rigidity in various operating conditions. In the process of operation, it is not damaged either due to the effect of centrifugal force or because of stress concentration caused by fatigue damage. Finally, on the basis of dynamic and static characteristics study, the study completes of the detailed design of components in the wind round structure, their fatigue analysis and structural stability analysis. The results show that the structure can withstand the provisions of the national standard and does not occur during the life of failure, so the structure owns high reliability. This study on structural design of VAWT wind turbine blades and the analysis of strength and reliability have greater versatility and value of engineering practice.
