This paper ,to comparise and select damsite during feasibility study stage from the point of view of engineering geological investigation,makea s study on Decision Method of Engineering Geology System in Damsite Comparison of Earth-rockfill Dam . Combined with the theory of engineering geological decision-making methods, a decision model is formulaited and is detailed quantitative studied.In this paper, the engineering geological decision-making methods, including the advantages and disadvantages of each method and application principles are addressed and summarized. Based on research phase of this paper, comparing advantages and disadvantages of lawis selected as a main method. Other two methods - Empirical judgments law and engineering analogy–are also used in the example of Damsite Comparison for Example in Yan Ziwo Reservoir.Various factors affecting the engineering geological problems are summed up by Analysing all aspects needed to be solved during engineering geological investigation in the feasibility stage .Three major aspects relevant to proposed reservoir ,the regional geological conditions , engineering geological conditions of the proposed reservoir and the engineering geological conditions of damsite ,are evaluated as three subsystems:S1,S2,S3.Engineering geological S3 system is modeled using the basic methods of System analysis of engineering geology and engineering geology simplified method .The weight of every evaluation factor is determined by improved Analytical Hierarchy Process.This paper takes Yan Ziwo Reservoir as an example. Considering the engineering geological conditions and geological problems in Yan Ziwo Reservoir, the decision model of the damsite selection is simplified,.Recommended dam site is drawn by comparing advantages and disadvantages of evaluation factors and their spective weights.
