As a model of simulation technology, marine simulator has been widely used in marine areas. It has made a great contribution to maritime training, habour channel proof and vessel experiment. In order to improve the types of ship in simulator, it's essential to add Small Water-Plane-Area Twin Hull model to mariner simulator as well as a technical reserve. This paper have built SWATH ship motion mathematical model. Because of time's limitation, Small Water-Plane-Area Twin Hull of three degrees of freedom has been completed for Modeling and Simulating.A large amount of information about Small Water-Plane-Area Twin Hull has been examined, and also some studies have been done on these information. First of all it has discussed development of the SWATH ship, and has analyzed its advantages and disadvantages. Then all properties of the SWATH ship have been evaluated, and we have decided to model and simulate by MMG Separate models. In the process of modeling, bare hull, propeller, fluid hydrodynamics of rudder, coefficient of propeller wake, factor of thrust deduction, and fluid hydrodynamics among hull, propeller and rudder have been analyzed and calculated in detail. Finally, by four-order Runge-Kutta integration method, has obtained SWATH ship motion state based on VC++ 6.0 platform. To validate the rationality and feasibility of the model, this paper has tested the direct route and cycle experiment using Japanese second SWATH ship named SeaGull. The simulation results have coincided with qualitative analysis, it can show that the mathematical model in this paper is correct and effective. The mathematical model established in this paper can provide a theoretical basis for Small Waterline Area ship model in marine simulator.
