As semiconductor process technology improving, the rapid development of portable electronic products, electronic products have become increasingly demanding power, small size, light weight, high efficiency power IC development is the inevitable trend.Subjects studied in this paper come from Semiconductor Manufacturing International (SMIC) power management chips used in mobile phones (PMU) IP R & D projects, the main research content is to use SMIC 0.18um CMOS 1.8V/3.3V Logic manufacturing process, designing USB2.0 Interface the power supply step-up DC-DC converter.Based on the principle of DC-DC converter, papers in-depth research and analysis and compare the feedback modulation of the PWM and PFM mode strengths and weaknesses; On this basis, the paper chose to use current mode PWM feedback modulation of the boost circuit architecture, and external component selection for the circuit parameters of the best value; with PWM control mode and peak-current control loop regulation theories, research papers presented design basis; according to functional requirements, thesis carried out the overall structure of the circuit design and sub-circuit design; Papers Key research and analysis of a typical circuit module: voltage reference source circuit, comparator and error amplifier circuit, current sampling circuit, oscillator circuit, slope compensation and logic control circuit.Application of EDA tools Spectre and hspice, papers on various sub-circuit modules and the overall circuit functional simulation; simulation results show that the performance of each module are set to achieve the desired targets; in a typical case, the linear adjustment of the circuit characteristics and load regulation features performance better, power conversion efficiency is high.Papers designed boost DC-DC with a simple circuit implementation, the output voltage, high precision, operating temperature range, high conversion efficiency advantages, its switching frequency 600KHz or so, input voltage range of 2.97V ~ 3.63V, can output a stable 5V voltage, driving range 10mA ~ 100mA, operating temperature range, power conversion efficiency of the load is 10mA ~ 100mA, when more than 90%.Papers also carried out by the design of the circuit layout.
