With the rapid development of China's economy, the business of maritime is flourishing, too. Shipping's role in economic development is increasingly important. Because of the bulk vessel's contain goods volume is big; the supply is well; the route is fixed; loading and unloading efficiency is higher etc. The bulk vessel can obtain the good economic efficiency. Bulk vessel shipping will be able to get a good economic benefit in the future development. However, the bulk vessels often encounter maritime accident in transportation, owning to its insufficient intensity which will result in the economical loss and personnel casualties.Therefore conducts research to the intensity of bulk vessels is very important.This article takes the object of study by an actual 2600t bulk vessel in operation, as while as analyzing total longitudinal strength and the partial intensity. Thanks to the finite element, the reform of the traditional structural mechanics of ship has taken place. The method using finite element can easily solve the problem that could not be solved before. In order to analyze the strength, the method using finite element is adopted. On the basis of setting up the ship model with finite element, a three-dimensional finite element analysis will be conducted to predict the deformation of the hull structure and stress distribution.The derived formula, the method to set up a model, the imposed loads and constraint and model analysis illustrated in this essay will contribute to the further studies of the structural design will have the reference to the related project practice and topic research.
