With the crisis of energy supply, many scholars began to research on HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) energy saving, and it is possible that HVAC energy consumption will be significantly reduced by optimizing HVAC system and identifying the optimal operating point. Under the premise of electricity demand response, cost saving becomes the most important need of the users.Therefore, it is necessary to carry out HVAC cost-saving optimization research under the premise of electricity demand response.In the studies of HVAC optimization, most remain in the optimization of a single type of equipment, so the optimization of the whole HVAC system is still a central issue. Electricity demand response makes cost saving possible, and the original energy-saving strategy is unable to meet the needs.Therefore, HVAC cost-saving optimization under the premise of electricity demand response has become a new topic of HVAC research.VAV (Variable Air Volume) system and VWV (Variable Water Volume) system have their own energy-saving advantages. In this paper, the combination of VAV system and VWV system was regarded as the study object, and then a lot of research on system modeling methods, model solution and optimization strategies were carried out. The main contributions are as follows:First, various load calculation software was introduced, and the advantages and disadvantages were compared. Then a building was chosen, and the HVAC cooling load was simulated using EnergyPlus, which would provide the basis for the research on HVAC optimization.Second, the models of HVAC equipment were establishd, and then the relationship between them was analyzed. In this way, HVAC energy-saving optimization model was constructed.Through a specific building, the optimization strategy was given by solving the model, which proved to have a good energy-saving effect. Finally, electricity demand response was introduced on the basis of HVAC energy-saving optimization model.In the first place, the indoor temperature setting strategy was put foward, and the 24-hour HVAC cooling load could be simulated. Then the hourly set-point of each piece of equipment could be obtained by using HVAC energy-saving optimization model, and thus HVAC cost-saving optimization strategy under the premise of electricity demand response was given. At last, on the basis of the time-of-use rates, the whole day's HVAC cost was calculated, and the effect of the cost-saving optimization strategy could be evaluated. The results indicated that the cost-saving optimization strategy had a good cost-saving effect.In the end, a summary of the full text was maken, and the issues which needed to be solved in the future were put forward.
