Wind turbine gearbox is the key component of a wind turbine. Because of the bad environment and variable operating conditions, wind turbine gearbox would be the largest component of occuring failures. The service life is less than design life. The main reason is the fatigue damage of gears and bearings. In this paper, the fatigue life of gears and bearings in gearbox of two typical 750 kW wind turbines were researched, the main research contents include:1) Analyzing the characteristics of wind turbine gearboxes, and discussing the caculation methods and procedures of load spectrum.2) Establishing three-dimensional solid models of the gearboxes of Micon750kW and Gamesa750kW by means of Romax Designer, and calculating and analyzing the fatigue characteristics of gears and bearings of the gearboxes under the given load spectrum.3) By discussing some factors of influenceing gears and bearings life, including calculating the load spectrum, parameters and structural dimensions, I put forward some recommendations for improving fatigue life of main components of wind turbine gearboxes.
