Overloaded and did not make full use of page space is an important contradiction of Traffic Guide Sign's information, so, calculation on the amount of information for the Guide Signs and the study on the effectiveness of Guide Signs'information for the drivers can provide a solution to solve this conflict.Based on the in-depth understanding of researches on the amount of information of Guide signs by domestic and overseas, through the depth analysis of guide sign layout content, using the Information sciences and some cognitive psychology theory, analyzed the road information needs of drivers and the information needs of guiding ; deathly analyzed the whole process of information transfer from guide sign to drivers, established a calculation method for the self-information of traffic guide signs, and the amount of information of made a general analysis for different types of drivers who different needs of guiding information.Finally, using the AHP method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, established an evaluation index system for traffic guide signs'effectiveness to divers. Using the method of expert scoring, calculated every index level weights, and made an example of the apply of indicators system.
