This paper presents a new kind of circuit breaker intelligent controller based on an intensive study of bistable permanent magnetic actuator circuit breaker. Firstly, the theoretical basis of this design is introduced, including the structure and working principle of the bistable permanent magnet, the identification principles of the coil current waveform and the detection principle of the coil current waveform. The basic features of the coil current waveform of the circuit breaker are also obtained by theoretical analysis. Based on this, a new function, current waveform detection, is performed in this program, which improves the stability and reliability of circuit breaker controller.This program selected the chip C8051F015 as the microprocessor of the intelligent circuit breaker controller and current waveform of the operating coil as the criterion of the success of the sub-closing control. To ensure the real-time level of the whole system and improve efficient resource utilization, hardware and software of the control system is designed and a real-time operating system,μC/OS-Ⅱ, C/OS-Ⅱwhich are multi-task mechanism, is transplant into C8051F015. The multi-task operating characteristics also lay a good foundation for the expansion and improvement of functional basis.Based on Lab VIEW, this program has designed an interface of system PC monitor, which has many important functions such as a sub-closing control, current waveform monitor and display, system configuration, fault and alarm status display, data storage and so on. Though the interface, commands of sub-closing control and system configuration can be sent while various status information of the system can be obtained at the same time. Tests show that the controller has a higher stability and reliability.
