Research On Link Travel Time Reliability Based On Floating Car Data

As the development of economy, the worsening of traffic environment is a common problem many modern cities focusing on. The inducement of traffic problem is not only the contradiction between traffic givens and traffic demands, but also the relative contradiction that comes from the inefficiency of time and space of the road. Road resources are utmost available to stop traffic environment worsening if advanced traffic management and service can be adopted, which are based on huge, accurate and real-time traffic flow information.Tec development of modern traffic information collection, real-time dispose of huge data and info diffusion help the manager and traveler get hold of operation situation of road network precisely, which makes high traveling qualities possible. Travel time is one of the efficiency indexes describing operation efficiency of road network. So shorten of travel time, reduce of its volatility and increase of travel efficiency and reliability for traffic participates become focus in traffic industry.This essay does a research on travel time reliability of road network considering floating car data from the sight of probability statistics. Dispose of floating car data is expanded from theoretical level to the area of application. Dispose flow of data collection is summarized based on applied situation of collection system of floating car data. Pretreatment of floating car data has been analyzed underlying and indirect algorithm of travel time for floating car data on single road unit.This essay proposed the concept of segment-travel time reliability (STTR)& network-travel time reliability (NTTR) based on different demands from traffic mangers& traveler, and reckon up the index with some algorithm. At last travel time data of same-level road in the network of ChengDu is counted and make an conclusion that travel time of network obeys some distribution.Travel time reliability of road is not only an important jugging index for operation efficiency of road network but also the basis to judge the reliability of travel routes by travelers, which has a applied value in traffic design.
