Objective Through the contrastive study of restorative effect between green and grey environment in city, this paper discussed the effects and speed of the restoration primarily, to support the future native study both in theory and application. Methods Through an extensive survey on contemporary relative literatures, this paper designed an on-site experiment, which used the one way repeated measures 14 male students were chosen randomly and separated into 2 groups, and each group of students were exposed to one environmental stimulators:green or grey environment. The test of association task was performed to bring the condition of stress, and Positive and Negative Emotion Scale (PANAS) was used to show the emotional fluctuation of the subjects under different conditions. Salivary Amylase Activity (SAA) was utilized as the physical index to detect the parasympathetic system activity directly. Results The effect of induced stress was not satisfying, significant consummation of physical and psychological resource was not observed; The parasympathetic system activity in green space group fell effectively in 5 minutes(p<0.05), which could be more evident in 10 minutes(p<0.05); The negative emotion was effectively improved during the experiment in green space group(p<0.01), but the positive emotion was reduced after restoration stage(p<0.05). Conclusion The green space selected had better restorative effect for physical resource, while the grey space was lack of this capability; At the same time, the green space in city could significantly restore the psychological resource, but the grey space tended to deplete the psychological resource.
