Development Of Excitation Regulator Based On LPC2138

The excitation controller is a significant part of excitation system of synchronous generator, which is important to keep security and stability of generator and power system. In this paper, based on access to the extensive literature of synchronous generator excitation control system in domestic and foreign, aim at Microcomputer-based excitation control system for small and medium low cost and so on, proposed to ARM embedded LPC2138 controller as the core of the excitation controller hardware, research and development the synchronous generator excitation control system.Firstly general scheme is produced in this paper. and the working principle of every part of the system is introduced. In the scheme, we make full use of the high speed real-time control ability data-handling capacity of the LPC2138 chip, as well as the rich internal peripheral device, to realize various functions. Secondly, it focuses on the hardware design method to realize the AC sampling technologies and Phase-shift trigger unit for the LPC2138 excitation controller; the hardware schematic diagram is presented. The formation of AC sampling technologies, and the design of the AC sampling circuit and Phase-shift trigger unit are included in the hardware design and the Software is also introduced. At last, the AC sampling system and Phase-shift trigger unit are debugged in the laboratory. The result of the AC sampling of the different frequency and Phase-shift trigger wave are measured, Laboratory test results showed that, the synchronous generator excitation regulate system that based on the LPC2138, possesses simple general structure, easy realized synchronous AC sampling circuit and Phase-shift trigger unit, high reliability, and stable performance and so on.
