Development of the automotive industry has made a significant contribution to the mobility demands of people's life, while at the same time it also brings to the society many serious problems such as global warming, air pollution and rapid reduction of oil resources. Electric vehicle(EV) shall be an effective approach to solve the foregoing problems because it is a clean transportation tool by replacing the traditional internal-combustion vehicles. EV charging station is essential to ensure the flexibility to run electric vehicles in a large scale. The charging station not only charges EV batteries but also functions as an interface between the grid and electric vehicles. Therefore, establishment of EV charging stations becomes the key-point to help popularize electric vehicles vigorously.This paper is to make further research on the basic theoretical research subject related to the EV charging station which is put forward by Hefei Power Supply Company, in order to regulating the constructing standardization of the EV charging stations within the district of Hefei. Targeting on the EV charging station which contains photovoltaic power, the paper study the construction integration of photovoltaic power and EV charging stations. The paper takes MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation platform and Power Quality Analyzer as the main research tool, implements a series of simulation design discussion on the design scheme and the running impact to the grid of the EV charging station. Moreover, tests and analyzes the harmonic wave datas of the dedicated charging station operation of the pure electric Bus No.18 in Hefei. Research contents in this paper are as follows:1. Analysis on the design of EV charging stations with photovoltaic power:Implement research on the current development of electric vehicles and the constructive necessity of EV charging station; expound the design scheme of EV charging stations and the energy flow of each scheme under the condition of photovoltaic power.2. Research on the composition of PV arrays and the output characteristics:Make a brief introduction on the principle of photovoltaic arrays and two typical mathematical models, including the model based on the equivalent circuit of idenl photovoltaic batteries and ASUPVD mathematical model projected by Arizona State University; execute MATLAB simulation analysis and calculation on ASUPVD model and achieve P-V curve andâ… -â…¤curve of photovoltaic arrays under different temperature and light conditions; execute the analysis and programming on the Maximal Power Point Tracking strategies of photovoltaic arrays on ASUPVD model.3. Research on the photovoltaic power supply system of EV charging stations:Discuss the basic operational principles of the lead-acid battery operational principles and the method of its charging; complete the calculation of photovoltaic arrays and the of battery capacity under certain requirements; implement the simulation analysis on two photovoltaic grid-connected control strategies.4. Discuss operational features of chargers in EV charging stations:Make a brief introduction on the composition of EV chargers; make discussion of the high-frequency power converter by combining with analysis of the charger composition and draw a simulation result; make use of MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation platform to construct the charger simulation model; discuss the influence to the grid which is produced by the dedicated charger operation of electric vehicles.5. Research on power quality of the EV charging station access point:Make a brief introduction and theoretical calculation on the power quality research object; establishe MATLAB/SIMULINK model of EV; make use of the established simulation model to analyze the influence on the grid power quality when the distribution grid of EV chargers operates under different conditions; make a brief discussion on the test harmonic wave data of dedicated charging station operation of the pure electric Bus No.18 in Hefei; targeting on the influenced harmonic problems produced by the practical charging station, put forward some approaches to solve the problems.
