Consider the reasons for the economic and land conservation, many areas are more likely to renovate be the existing highway.In this paper, Proposed the two methods to determine the suit time to renovate be the existing highway based on the traffic capacity of the influencing factors and the economic analysis of proposed. Apply road engineering, traffic engineering, traffic psychology, perspective and statistical knowledge, take a lot of research on vehicle track in multiple points of the Chongqing Neihuan freeway, through mathematical analysis, established relations between the space of vehicles and the speed of vehicles when different vehicles beyond each other; Establish relational model of vehicle speed and clearance between the running_ vehicle and guardrail in the same method, obtained safety width of left side strip under different design speed; Analysis the rationality of the narrow paved shoulder, To increase security, Recommended the set of harbour parking strip. Combined the function of median strip and soil shoulder, given it's rational width.Through the research of the speed of different lane in the Chongqing Neihuan freeway, Analyse the relationship between the accident rate and dispersion of the speed and the relationship between accident severity and running speed, combining with the usage of the different lanes,proposed organization and management program under the eight-lane freeway.In this paper, relying on Chongqing Waihua freeway, proposed some programs of changing six-lane into eight-lane in the same width of based on the standard and the analysis of the safety space. Analyze multi-lane traffic capacity of different width of lane through the Road traffic simulation. Identify the feasible of renovation and expansion program.
