| The trend of large-scale, professional and high-speed ships is clear with the development of world international trade, which makes the port channel a higher design requirements especially in the conditions of its navigation and navigation standards. As we know, the port constructions need a large investment,high technical requirements and it has high-impact on the domestic economy.Also,it will be a great investment to rebuild or change the port when it is completed.Therefore, it is worthy making comprehensive consideration on the port project to ensure it big promotion for national economic.lt is necessary to make the channel safe for ships,under the wind, flow, waves, fog, and other natural conditions.At present, the channel width is calculated by two methods:①.theory study and statistical calculation;②ship experiment. It also includes the real ship experiment, ship model experiment and computer simulation.This paper analyze the domestic and international rules on the channel width such as the Chinese "Design Code of General Layout for Sea Port" (JTJ 211-99), PIANC "approach channel design Guide ", U.S.A EM1110-2-1613 (Hydraulic Design of Deep Draft Navigation), the U.S.A ASCE NO.107 (Ship Channel Design and Operation) and the Canadian channel design parameters to find out the difference in the calculating methods.More than 800 groups of ship simulation experiments were carried out on the 150,000 DWT container ship model to work out the key factors which influence the ship-trajectory width. The ship simulation experiments are under 3 speeds (Dead Slow Ahead, Slow Ahead, Half Ahead),7 wind bear angles (000°,030°,060°,090°, 120°,150°,180°),5 wind speeds (7.9m/s,10.7m/s,13.8m/s,17.9m/s,20.1m/ s),5 related wave height (1.0m,1.5 m,2.0m,2.5m,3.0m),7 current bear angles (000°,030°,060°,090°,120°,150°,180°),8 current speeds (0.25m/s,0.5 m/s, 0.75m/s,1.0m/s,1.25m/s,1.5m/s,1.75m/s,2.0m/s).The rudder angle,drift angle and ship-trajectory width will be recorded in the data forms.By track width, speed, pressure, wind angle, the flow pressure angle and other critical data. analyzing the relationship between these critical data, the paper presented some rules about the relationship of ship-trajectory width and wind, current condition.At the same time, some equals about the port channel width calculating are put out.The study on the port channel width will provide a reference on the revise of "Design Code of General Layout for Sea Port" (JTJ 211-99) on the research of very large container ships channel width. |
